Camp Leavenworth Festival 2019 Music Lineup

Maria the Mexican

Influenced by traditional Mariachi music, Maria The Mexican is a hybrid of Mexican folklore and Rock. The fusion of Maria The Mexican is mixed with a touch of blues, soul, funk, and rock n’ roll enhanced by the musical knowledge and sounds of Garrett Nordstrom. With a southwestern flare and melancholy motifs, Maria The Mexican rocks it out in Spanish and English with a host of emotions.

A natural frontman, his high energy stage presence has earned him opening spots with such notable acts as Luke Bryan, Dan + Shay, Maroon 5, Thomas Rhett, Backstreet Boys, Darius Rucker, and Gary Allan. This is where he has honed his ability to command an audience and build his fiercely loyal fan base. Six’s single, “Boyfriend,” earned him industry attention for his songwriting chops when the early demo went #1 on the NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International) Top 40 Chart.

Coming straight out of the Ozarks, Ha Ha Tonka specialize in disarming and effortless anthems that owe as much to high and lonesome Ozarks mountain music as chugging college rock.

Embrace Quiet Hours at camp at our Silent Disco! Two deejays will play music through wireless headphones rather than a speaker system creating the ultimate silent dance party. Those participating in the silent disco will hear music from one of the two deejays through their headphones that may be the same or different from their neighbor dancing in the silent disco. Not only is this a blast to participate in but it is just as fun for those passing by that hear no music, watching an area full of people dancing to silence.
10th Ave Quartet of Leavenworth High School will be kicking things off on the main stage!

Ryan Manuel and the Getaway

Ryan Manuel and the Getaway is a hard hitting Red Dirt Country band based in Northeastern Kansas combining a style of traditional country, blues, and southern rock. Ryan Manuel and the Getaway has a distinct revival sound that connects with audiences and makes any venue come alive.

Eddie Moore

Jazz runs deep in pianist and bandleader Eddie Moore’s veins. When you speak to Eddie Moore you find an ocean of calm, and when you listen to Eddie Moore  you find the depth of that ocean. Eddie reaches from the soul with every note, in a deep way, with a tension just below the surface. His yearning for exploration and curiosity in music contribute to an ebb and flow freedom of expression.

Heather Newman Band

Heather Newman has been breathing fire ever since her 2017 debut and the release of her album, “Burn Me Alive”. The strong leading melodies on guitar, piano, and organ, Heather’s steady grooving bass lines lock in with deep rooted beats, this group produces a one of a kind medley of various styles such as soul, funk, blues, and rock, with a killer original set. Heather’s ever flowing, sultry, emotional vocals makes every show exciting and unique, keeping her loving fans coming back for more.

DeMaur

DeMaur is an R&B/Pop artist from Kansas City, Missouri. DeMaur got much of his musical influence and inspiration singing in his late uncle’s church in Kansas City, Missouri during his teenage years. The main influences on his sound include John Legend, Bruno Mars, and Sam Smith.

LA Jones

LA Jones is a soul-pop band from Kansas City, Missouri. Formed in 2018 by lead vocalist Danielle Jones and guitarist Tim O’Connor, the band has now grown to feature a wide variety of instruments and members. They blend a style of contemporary pop music with vintage soul, drawing comparisons to Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, and The Revivalists. Currently an independent group, they released their first EP Bring Me Back Down in April of 2019.

Grand Marquis

Formed in 1998, Grand Marquis has since become solidly rooted in the Kansas City music scene! The group has performed from coast to coast while releasing 8 albums. With their own versatile and thoroughly entertaining brand of American Roots, Blues and Prohibition-Era Jazz, the Grand Marquis are consistently finding themselves in high demand.

Big Time Grain Co

When you mix great attitudes with great talent, something magical happens. From the Bourquin boys’ upbringing in Western Kansas to the good times of today, Big Time Grain Company has a story to tell. If you want to cry in your beer, you may need to find another band, but if you’re looking for a reason to have fun right now, and maybe even chuckle a bit, we’ve got a story for you.

Tyler Gregory

Hailing from the rolling hills of Kansas, Tyler Gregory can regularly be found performing 260+ shows a year. With his steam-powered melodies, Gregory’s mix of blues and roots music howls with a sense of passion and freedom. This songcrafter takes the cues and lifestyle from blues bellowers and drives full force on his guitar/banjo/stomp-box live performance arrangements.

Bob _ Una Walkenhorst

Bob and Una Walkenhorst are a father-daughter duo from Kansas City, Missouri. Bob has been a fixture on the Kansas City and international music scene since the 1980’s as lead singer and songwriter for The Rainmakers. In 2018 Bob began collaborating with his daughter Una, a singer-songwriter in her own right. They share a common love of traditional songs and 2-part family harmony.

Sky Smeed

Sky was born and raised outside of Chanute, Kan., in an old, one-room schoolhouse. Since then, Smeed has released seven albums, including Leaving Again, which came out in February 2019. Listeners often compare Sky’s music to Gram Parsons, Neil Young and John Prine, though his easy-going, off-the cuff banter and transparency link him to contemporaries like Todd Snider and Paul Thorn.

Sara Morgan is a performing singer/songwriter quickly making her name known throughout the Midwest and beyond. A true storyteller, Sara brings her music to the stage in songs she calls “hip honky tonk” and “hybrid country”. Her original songs contain thought-provoking lyrics rich in substance, accompanied by music that blends a modern, contemporary sound with echoes and tinges of the traditional, classic country she loves.
